It will be 2 movies. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and The Hobbit: There and Back Again. Although I'm still a bit confused whether it will just be the book split in 2 parts or also a part using the appendices and filling the void between the Hobbit and The Fellowship of the Ring.
