Slash and burn

Turns out Slash bristled when we mentioned he might be the “lazy" Guns N’ Roses member and the reason why the rock Gods haven’t gotten their butts back in a studio in some time.

Slash wanted us to know lazy is a word he doesn’t understand. (Well, he understands it, it’s just that he isn’t — oh, you know what we mean.) Slash said he’s done 586 gigs since Guns N’ Roses came off their 2 1/2-year worldwide “Use Your Illusion’’ tour. What’s more, he hasn’t had a vacation in years and hasn’t even properly celebrated his third wedding anniversary because he’s been too busy. However, he did take his wife, Renee, with him when he did a bit in the upcoming film “Private Parts.” He told us it’s “unsafe” to say what he does in the film. And finally, he just finished a couple of tracks for Quentin Tarantino’s “Curdled.”

We’re impressed with his energy and wish he could use some of it to motivate Axl Rose back into the studio.
