I come from a small, not very rich country which doesn't have the best reputation amongst tourists but though its controversial, sometimes called by us the land of absurds, it has rich history, loads of paradise places, interesting cuisine, decent wine and some of the worst politicians in the world. I love it and the older I get the less I want to leave it. I'll start with the place where I & be my baby were born - Varshets - a small mountain resort popular for its mineral water which has been used since Roman times. Here're some pictures:

On topic: One of the things that took me most time to accept about my country is that it's a country of contrasts. Here're some examples of this from the region in North West of Bulgaria I am from:

These videos are made by a friends' band Amuzia and depict very well with a lot of humour one side of this region, including the musical preferences there and the colourful dialect. There's not one literary word in the lyrics lol.

Today we celebrate the start of spring and March which is considered as a 'female' month having the same temperament as a woman lol We give each other the above thingy called martenica as a symbol of health. I think we're the only country having this custom.
