Axl Rose Settles Lawsuit With Loyal Roadie

Axl Rose is flush with cash these days which likely played a factor in settling the lawsuit filed by his longtime roadie and engineer Chris Pitman.

TMZ broke the story ... Pitman sued the GNR singer claiming he was owed $163,000 for his services from a few years back. He says Axl had promised to pay once he had more cash flow, but didn't make the 2012 deadline.

Sources tell us Axl and Chris reached a settlement this month and the case has been dismissed. Terms are confidential, but we're told Axl dropped some dough -- though much less than $163k -- to make the suit go away.

GNR reportedly grossed about $4 million per show on this year's tour. Mo' money, one less problem.

Axl Rose Settles Lawsuit With Former Guns N’ Roses Instrumentalist Chris Pitman

Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose has reportedly settled the legal action taken by the band's former instrumentalist Chris Pitman. Back in September, it was reported that Pitman was seeking compensation for an unpaid debt over services he provided to the group.

According to Pitman, he claimed that Rose wrote him a promissory note for $125,000 he was owed for over a year's worth of work, with the deadline to pay being October 2012. But Rose had failed to do so by the deadline, which led to the instrumentalist taking legal action, seeking over $163,000.

TMZ reports that the two musicians reached a settlement earlier in November and that the case has been dismissed. Terms of the settlement were confidential, but TMZ stated that Rose paid less than the $163,000 sought to finalize the suit.

Pitman joined Guns N' Roses in 1998 and performed with the group as a second keyboardist, second bassist and backing vocalist, while also adding percussion and programming at the band's shows. It initially appeared that he would be part of the 2016 lineup that included the return of Slash and Duff McKagan, but he later made headlines calling the reunion "a money grab" and "a nostalgia tour." He then apologized for those remarks, but later once again slammed the trek as "an oldies reunion." Pitman has not been part of the 2016 show, with Melissa Reese taking on the duties he once performed.
